Powerful Cyclone Hits Myanmar
May 24, 2008
A devastating cyclone struck on May 3, 2008 in Myanmar leaving an estimated (what is said to now be) 100,000 people dead and up to two million in need of aid. Cyclone Nargis has destroyed thousands of homes and affected those already living in poor conditions.

Many organizations are in on the ground in Myanmar, working with the national government, to distribute clothing, blankets, food and emergency shelter material to those in the hardest hit areas. Thousands have lost their homes and are in need of assistance.
Most of the organizations are appealing to Canadians in an effort to raise $3 million. Your generous gift will help provide shelter, clean water, food and emergency supplies to the people of Myanmar.
